Tugboats push the second
of four caissons which will be sunk 110 feet in the Hudson
River to serve as the foundation for the main spans of the
second Newburgh-Beacon Bride now under construction. The caissons,
107 feet long, 46 feet wide and 82 feet high, are made by
Steel Style, Inc., of Newburgh. Work on the bridge is being
done by Steer-Spearing-Yonkers-Buckley, general contractors
for the project.
